- Get 500 gms chicken
- Make ready 1 tsp ginger garlic paste

- Prepare 3 whole Kashmiri red chillies

- Make ready 1 green cardamom
- Prepare 3 cloves
- Get 1 inch cinnamon
- Take 1-2 petals Star anise
- Take 11/2 medium sized onions chopped roughly
- Prepare 2 medium sized tomatoes chopped roughly
- Take 1/2 green chilli
- Prepare 1 tbsp tamarind paste
- Get 4 tbsp oil
- Make ready as required Water as required
- Get To garnish-
- Get as required Chopped coriander leaves
Instructions to make Goan Chicken curry:
- In a bowl, marinate the chicken with the ingredients under "For marination" and keep in the refrigerator for around 1/2 an hour.
- In a pan dry roast all the whole dry spices. Let it cool.
- While the dry spices are cooling, heat oil in a pan, saute the onions, tomatoes and green chilli till they are soft and pulpy. Remove from flame and set aside to cool.
- Once both the dry spices and the onion tomato mixture is cooled. Grind them to a fine paste adding water if and as required.
- Then in a pan, heat oil and fry the marinated chicken for about 5 mins.
- Next add the ground masala paste to the chicken, add water then cover and cook on slow fire till the chicken is cooked.
- Once the chicken is cooked, add the tamarind pulp cook for 5 mins more.
- Finally garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or paratha or roti.
