Steps to make Rava Idli Satay with Peanut Sauce:
- Mix the ingredients to prepare idli, except the baking soda and set aside for 15 minutes. Now add soda and mix well. Pour in greased idli moulds and steam for 10 mins or till idli is ready.
- Mixth ingredients under- masala to coat the idli in a bowl and set aside.
- For peanut chutney: grind the peanuts to a coarse powder. Soak imli in water and squeeze to obtain imli water. Mix the ground peanuts to this imli water and set aside.
- Grind onion, garlic, ginger, red chillies to a smooth paste. Heat oil in a vessel and add the ground paste. Cook for a few minutes till the raw smell from the onion goes away. Now add the imli peanut water, salt, sugar, soy sauce, red chilli powder, food colour and mix well. Cook everything for a few minutes till thick. Switch off flame and cool the sauce.
- Cut the idlis into triangle shapes and coat them with the coating masala. Insert Satay sticks and saute on medium flame in a non-stick pan from all sides. Serve with peanut chutney. Enjoy!
